Men LET women into the army, men LET women into the government, and without men ther would BE no more girls. Your argument is moot.
Personally I miss the old days where a man could count on his family's safety blindly, and go to work comforted by the thought that his proginy will be reared under the watchful eye of a loyal and like-minded mate not occupied by other endeavours, leaving the child to some stranger to raise as we see nowadays. The man fullfills his duties towards his family by providing for them, guarding them, and representing them, while the woman's role is that of the nurturing pillar of support. Both man and woman share the chores of the home, as do the children. The child's role in this household is therefore unwavering obedience and humility towards both parents, as it is the embassador of their values and upbringing towards the rest of the world.
Thinking that the old ways of thoughts were wrong will be the same of the future generation of what they will think about of us. To me Batwan didn't want his wife to get hurt and acted accordently to his believes. We don't realized that not al changes are for the goods of humand kind. We have been brain wash by all the multimedia propaganda to make a buck on our new false believed. I respect my wife as I want my dauther mate to respect her. Someone else wife is someone else daugther. Respect has to be both ways.
Somehow, this one generation got it backwards, at least as I see it. The home may be the Wife's Place, as in, she runs it. There's no reason to make her a prisoner of it.
As barcode points out in his on inimitable way this isn't funny because we are laughing at the repression of women. It is funny because we are laughing at peoples value systems from the past. So it is funny exactly because we believe women are equal not because we think they should be repressed.
Yes it is funny, laughing at the past is an important thing to do. Seeing the ridiculousness in their principles helps us re-examine ours. Now make me a sandwich.
Now look, i'm a wife, and mother, I do not need a man of this day and age, they mooch. I have yet found a man to take care of me, my child or pay my bills.
